Made in America: ApogeeINVENT

In honor of the patriotic holiday, we thought we’d explain why we are proud to be an American company. And why we think Made in America Software is better. While we might be biased, it seems that many others agree that American programming is better: Seven of the 10 highest grossing computer software and programming companies are American, including Oracle, Symantec, Adobe Systems, and Intuit (Forbes Global).

Since beginning the company in 2004, CEO Joseph Frazier has been adamant about hiring American developers and designers, and never outsourcing work. Every web based software platform we have created was engineered by our team of American developers.

“Besides the patriotic reasons, there are many economic reasons to hiring American software engineers and web designers,” comments Joe.

When so many businesses turn to outsourcing cheap labor abroad to countries like India, we have remained an American business, with American labor.  So why is ApogeeINVENT a “Made in America” company?

Advantages of Made in America Software:

  1. Communication is easier.  Language barriers, cultural differences, and time changes are just a few of the issues when using a team that is abroad. It is much easier to communicate with an employee in the US. It is easier to understand what the end user or consumer expects out of software when that software is designed by an American engineer. Who could better understand your target audience than someone who is part of the audience?
  2. Quality. Our team goes through a rigorous, standardized training process.  We uphold our team to high standards of production and encourage continual education to stay up to date on the latest trends. When using an overseas team, there is no way to guarantee the quality of software or designs. Just like any kind of cheap product, cheaply made often means cheap quality.
  3. Overall cost.  In the long run, communication problems, poor quality standards, and other issues can raise the cost of a project.  A low hourly rate can result in a more expensive project overall and an inferior end product.

We have had many clients return to our company after trying a ‘cheaper’ overseas team because our software is higher quality, our team is more efficient, and we produce the results they are looking for.
